The Fox Valley Wrestling Club (FVWC), offers its members (youths 4-14 and not in high school), training opportunities in folkstyle wrestling. Membership applications are available to residents of the greater Naperville/Aurora/Plainfield/Bolingbrook area, and are reviewed for entry into the club on an annual basis by the FVWC coaching staff.

Our practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30-8:00 pm), and Saturday mornings (7:30-9:00 am), at Neuqua Valley High School, beginning in early November and continuing through March. Tournament-style competitions are held on Sundays during the season in various locations throughout the greater Chicagoland area.

We are members of the following governing bodies:  USA Wrestling (USAW), and Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF). All FVWC wrestlers are required to maintain membership with USAW, as required by the IKWF. All FVWC coaches are required to be approved by the Team President and Head Coach, maintain membership with USAW and be properly certified by USAW.

We offer (2) program options for our wrestlers.

The Varsity Program (which includes participation in 12 scheduled tournaments). Club fees for this program are $350.00 per wrestler.

The Junior Varsity Program (which includes participation in 5 scheduled tournaments). Club fees for this program are $200.00 per wrestler.

We offer a $50.00 discount for each additional sibling member, for either the Varsity or Junior Varsity Program.

We are an all-inclusive club, providing each wrestler with:  registration and membership in USA Wrestling/IKWF, competition wrestling singlet/warm-ups, work-out shorts and shirt, pre-paid wrestler registration to all FVWC scheduled tournaments, team and individual photos, and a pre-paid Awards Banquet for all family members. We feel this is the most effective way to make certain all wrestlers and their families are included in every club activity/offer throughout the season, with a minimum of additional expenses or concerns. Fees may be paid in full at the time of registration, or in (2) installments of 50% each,  at the time of registration and by January 1 of the New Year.  We suggest the installment payment plan for new members as this provides an opportunity to consider membership in FVWC at a reduced cost for the first half of the season, with no financial obligation to commit to the second half of the season.

Practices will be attended by only coaches and wrestlers following the first week of the season (“open-house” week).  We have found this to be the best way to provide a safe and productive environment for our wrestlers and coaches.

All wrestlers are required to practice wearing: a practice singlet (not shirt and shorts or competition singlet), wrestling shoes, and a headgear (advised, not mandatory).  Competition singlets/warm-ups are only to be worn to competitions, not to practice.  Each wrestler is advised to bring a water bottle (squeeze-style, no leak), to practice.

Tournaments are scheduled on Sundays (with an occassional Saturday), throughout the season.  All wrestlers will be registered and pre-paid for each tournament, by the club.  Weigh-ins are generally held between 6:30 – 8:00 am, with wrestling starting by 9:00 am, and finishing between 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

We encourage our members to embrace our values: confidence, determination, commitment, integrity, and loyalty.  All wrestlers and family members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which is respectful of the club and the sport of wrestling.  A failure to do so may result in suspension or expulsion from the club.
